Can your hairstyle make you look thinner!

Society has us obsessed with how we look.

We can't help checking ourselves in every mirror we walk by, constantly run our fingers through our hair, or sucking in our stomach for pics!

Needless to say, every now and then we need a fresh look. Having options to match our hairstyle with our mood is a must!

If this is you, then we’ve got you covered. We've hooked you up with some styles that will inspire the exact look you want and shed a few pounds in the process.

1. UpDo's

A vertical updo adds length to the face and brings attention upward. If you pull hair back into a severe ponytail, you might see added weight in the jaw and neck area. To avoid this, keep that updo soft and high, and soften the look even further by pulling some hair down around your cheekbones to create a frame around the face. Remember added height can make your face look slimmer.

2. A splash of color

A little color makes everything better and your hair is no exception. Natural, subtle highlights are not only flattering but add depth and shape to your facer. Add highlights at the top of the head and leave the darker shade underneath. The brighter color draws vertical attention to your face and makes it look slimmer. Highlights also give your hair volume and shine and your face a fresh, healthy, glow!

3. Bob Season

A few years ago, spring and summer were the ideal times to rock the bob. However, lately its becoming a year round go-to hairstyle. A bob is a great way to slim down that face. And instead of going for the blunt cut, tell your stylist you want a longer shaggy bob with softness and movement. For some added slimness, part that bob right down the middle so your hair falls along the face.

4. Long Hair dont Care!

If you desire a slimmer face, go long. However, if you already have a long shaped face, straight, long, hair can drag down your features which can make you look older. Transform your look with layers around your cheekbone to show off your bone structure and add volume. A long, layered cut is the ideal hairstyle to create the illusion of a thin face. When styling, keep volume in the lower sections of your hair, to help balance your face. Too much volume on the sides of your face will only make your face look rounder.

5. Bang it Out.

Heavy or blunt? Avoid blunt bangs if you have a round face, otherwise go for it with some long layers. For wispy bangs, make sure the fringe is shorter in the middle and longer on the edges to create a slimming look. Shaggy sideswept bangs are a great style if you're trying to elongate your face or draw attention to your eyes. They should be cut no shorter than halfway down your nose and should have “shattered” ends.
